
Description
Wonderkin Toybox is a 2D top-down, turn-based strategy game developed by Ivan Ching, Bailey Escritor, Liam Riel, and Andrew Shelton as part of their senior project for the UNR CSE Department in Spring 2026. Guided by advisor Dr. Alireza Tavakkoli and instructors David Feil-Seifer, Vinh Le, Richie White, and Stosh Peterson, the team created a charming tactical experience set in a child's imaginative world where toys spring to life. Players engage in grid-based combat using a unique deck-building system, where each unit wields custom attack, movement, and support cards. As the game progresses, challenges grow tougher, and players can acquire new units or enhance existing ones. Built in Unity with assets from Pixel Frog's Tiny Swords and Cainos' Pixel Art Top Down - Basic, Wonderkin Toybox blends strategic depth with nostalgic visuals.
