When The Sun Went Out

Description

When The Sun Went Out is a first-person exploration experience built in Unreal Engine 5.6 as a personal project by Lucas Grandchamp. Set in a frozen, lifeless Earth, players navigate a desolate research facility shrouded in mystery, piecing together what remains of a forgotten past. Developed entirely with Blueprints, the game features immersive environmental storytelling, atmospheric visuals, and haunting audio design. While 3D models, animations, some VFX, and sound assets were sourced from FAB, all jugabilidad systems and mechanics were designed and implemented from scratch. As you delve deeper into the facility, you're confronted with a profound question: in the face of extinction, what truly matters—saving humanity, or preserving the humanity within yourself? The project serves as a technical and narrative showcase, blending survival aesthetics with introspective themes. A full design breakdown is available on the creator's portfolio. This experience invites players to reflect on identity, survival, and sacrifice in a world where the sun no longer shines.
