VR SynthShip Shootout is a fast-paced arcade-style VR shooter developed as a prototype by ONCGM and 3D artist Nahuy. Designed exclusively for Oculus Rift, the game puts players in the cockpit of a futuristic spaceship, blasting waves of enemy vessels with intuitive dual-hand controls. To wield your weapon, grab the gun with both hands using the hand triggers, then fire by pressing both index triggers simultaneously. The default aiming setup is inverted, simulating the natural movement of a gun mounted on a tripod for a unique and immersive feel. Created in just one month, this experimental title delivers a tight, action-packed experience focused on precision and reflexes. While currently limited to Oculus Rift, it showcases promising potential for arcade combat in virtual reality. Feedback is welcome as the team explores future improvements and expansions.
