Void Urge is a meditative VR experience that captures the emotional weight of longing and dissatisfaction. You guide an unnamed character forward in a surreal journey through shifting, hand-painted landscapes, chasing an elusive sense of peace. Using your VR controllers as portals, you warp through space while carrying your momentum, navigating environments that gradually collapse around you. Each level reflects the mind's restless hunger—beautiful yet deceptive, with platforms shrinking and distractions multiplying, mirroring the anxiety of never feeling quite enough. Developed by Kalle Rasinkangas in just one week for the Epic Games Jam 2021, the game's creation mirrored its theme, with the developer briefly abandoning it due to self-doubt. Built with Unreal Engine 5's early preview, Void Urge turns inner emptiness into a tangible, immersive challenge where space and time are always running out.
