Vestr is the first entry in an immersive series of educational VR games that bring forgotten chapters of history to life through interactive storytelling. Step into the world of the Norse explorers around the year 1000, as you set sail from Greenland to Vinland—modern-day Newfoundland—following the mysterious disappearance of your brother among the settlers. Explore the abandoned Norse camp, uncover clues, and survive in a land where Vikings and Indigenous tribes once met, traded, and clashed. Experience history firsthand in this atmospheric VR adventure that blends exploration, survival, and narrative depth. Developed by HistoVRians as part of Saxion University's Startup Project, Vestr offers a compelling glimpse into the short-lived Viking presence in North America. This is a VR experience requiring a headset and SteamVR to play.
