Trap Japan
Trap Japan is a single-player beat ‘em up and life simulator set in Japan, featuring a distinctive pixel art style. Inspired by classic titles like River City and Final Fight, players take on the role of a young gang member aiming to reclaim family territory from rival gangs and yakuza. Beyond combat, the game offers life simulation elements—rent apartments, decorate homes, and interact with the environment. Set across real locations in the Chubu and Kanto regions, the open world reflects authentic Japanese culture and daily life. Players can work part-time jobs, engage in minigames, and participate in cultural activities. RPG mechanics allow character progression, skill training, and stat boosts through food and drink. Developed entirely by Marcos, a Brazilian fan of Japan, the game represents his passion and dedication. He handled all aspects—art, music, sound, programming, and storytelling—starting from his phone. This demo serves as a prologue to a larger vision.
