The Honours Project
Is a deeply personal walking simulator that captures a challenging period in the developer’s university years. Players step into a dreamlike world, guided by a narrative that blends humor and introspection about student life and game development. The game features atmospheric 3D audio, optional lore-exploring notes, and light puzzle mechanics designed to mirror the uncertainty of creative processes. With a runtime of 25–35 minutes, it emphasizes emotional resonance over complex jugabilidad, using voice acting by Josef Boon to bring authenticity. Created over five months as a final-year project, the game prioritizes audio-narrative synergy, though technical polish may require refinement. It supports mouse/keyboard and Xbox controllers, with WASD for movement, E for interaction, and ESC for options. The developer acknowledges potential bugs and acknowledges their focus on audio as a primary strength. Free to play, the project aims to reassure aspiring creators that uncertainty is natural—and that ideas often emerge when least expected. Every player’s journey through.
