LabTrainingVR: Personal Protective Equipment Edition
LabTrainingVR: Personal Protective Equipment Edition is a virtual reality course aimed at training laboratory professionals in the correct use of PPE. Designed for scientists working with hazardous or infectious materials, the course teaches how to identify transmission routes, select the right PPE for daily and emergency situations, and properly put on and remove protective gear. The immersive environment simulates a museum setting, allowing learners to practice skills in a safe, interactive way. The course concludes with a virtual exam to assess knowledge retention. It requires the HTC Vive VR platform, a minimum play area of 3 ft x 3 ft (ideally 20 ft x 20 ft), and 360° motion tracking. Ideal for clinical and public health lab staff, this experience helps reinforce safety protocols in a realistic digital space. LabTrainingVR offers an engaging way to master essential lab safety skills.
