Homeland: Lay to Rest is a concise third-person action-adventure title following a monk disciple wielding a chakram—a homing, circular blade—to cleanse his corrupted homeland. Players explore the ruins of the disciple’s underground home, blending combat and exploration as they battle corrupted guardians and uncover memories of a lost world. The game features fluid combat where chakrams are used to disarm enemies, dodge attacks, and navigate environments in slow motion. Traversal is dynamic, with the chakram acting as a grappling hook to cross chasms, scale crumbling structures, and reveal hidden paths. Environmental storytelling shines through ghostly remnants and atmospheric visuals, painting a picture of a culture once vibrant, now haunted by decay. Striking art direction and immersive music enhance the experience, reflecting its origins as a DigiPen Institute student project.
