Zombietown
Zombietown is my first 3D game built in Unity, designed as a learning project to sharpen my skills and explore Unity’s capabilities. While not a casual title, it draws heavy inspiration from Nuketown in Call of Duty, focusing on core mechanics like movement (WASD), jumping (Spacebar), sprinting (Left Shift), and survival elements. The project highlights challenges in optimizing performance, as maintaining stable FPS proved difficult despite implementing object pooling and audio management. Profiling revealed draw call inefficiencies as a likely culprit for frame rate drops, though solutions remain elusive. Developed entirely solo, Zombietown uses free assets from the Unity Asset Store and draws from the GameDev TV 3D Game Course foundation. Code is openly shared on GitHub for transparency and feedback. This project serves as both a technical experiment and a tribute to collaborative learning in game development. I welcome any insights to improve it further. Your feedback helps shape better experiences for players and creators alike.
