Zantar & Other Stories
Zantar & Other Stories is an innovative anthology of interactive stories and mini-games crafted by acclaimed solo developer Mitchell F. Chan. The collection features six distinct narratives, each lasting 15 to 30 minutes, blending humor, emotion, and suspense. Players guide a gelatinous cube named Zantar through a medieval village, battling warriors and ascending in power by consuming chieftains. Beyond the jugabilidad, the project explores a fictional video game world that blurs the line between fiction and reality. As Zantar grows more influential, its logic begins to spill into the real world, trapping players in an endless loop of engagement. DE SARTHE, a leading platform for contemporary Asian art, showcases this unique work at Frieze Seoul, alongside pieces by Lov-Lov, Mak2, and Zhong Wei. The anthology is a thought-provoking experience that challenges players to keep playing. This is more than a game—it’s a commentary on digital escapism.
