Yūrei
Is a psychological horror game developed by 10 second-year master’s students at Cnam-Enjmin (Angoulême) over five months as an end-of-year project. Players step into the shoes of Jun, a mangaka trapped within their own manga, forced to confront the story they abandoned. The game blends narrative depth with eerie jugabilidad, where Jun must rewrite the plot, battle personal demons, and break a cursed cycle. The manga itself is fused to Jun’s hand, preventing escape, and serves as both antagonist and narrator. As Jun struggles to recall their past work, the story unfolds through tense interactions with the text, with the manga refusing to cooperate. Controls include a gamepad and keyboard (WASD, arrow keys, and specific buttons for actions). The demo, still in development, features placeholders and bugs, but offers a chilling glimpse into its potential. With a focus on psychological tension and player choice, *Yūrei* promises a unique blend of horror and storytelling. This project highlights the creativity.
