Description

XTactics is a turn-based strategy game inspired by the classic Risk board game, offering deep customization and tactical depth. Players can configure the battlefield with various map shapes—including hexagons, squares, triangles, and random meshes—and choose from rectangular, rounded, or image-based map layouts. The zoomable map supports cyclic mode for borderless worlds and bridges between distant cells. Games can be saved or loaded in.xtg XML format, with auto-save and command-line file opening support. Up to multiple players can compete, each with customizable colors and starting conditions, facing AI opponents with low, medium, or high aggression levels. Features include "Fog of War" for hidden map areas, city mechanics with configurable growth rates, and support for symmetric maps ideal for two-player matches. A graph window tracks in-game statistics across turns, while high DPI and localization (English, Czech) ensure broad accessibility. The game also supports large toolbar icons, quick-move mechanics using Control and Shift keys, and easy access to recent files. xTactics delivers a modern, flexible twist on classic global conquest.
