World in a Box is a life simulation game developed as a final-year project at Bournemouth University, blending everyday jugabilidad with language learning mechanics. Designed to help players improve their listening, reading, and writing skills, the game immerses you in conversations with NPCs who discuss a variety of topics, including cultural facts and local wildlife. These interactions provide a natural way to practice a new language while exploring a vibrant, interactive world. For the best experience, the game is optimized for a 1920x1080 screen resolution. As part of the project, players are asked to complete a brief form before starting and another after finishing the game to help evaluate its educational impact. Voice acting is provided by professional contributors from Fiverr, adding authenticity to the characters.
