Wood for the Trees
Wood for the Trees is a narrative-driven indie adventure game born from Ludum Dare 35. Designed as a deeply personal experience, it invites players to immerse themselves in its thoughtful storytelling and reflective pacing. The game encourages taking time to absorb its rich, introspective texts, which form the backbone of its emotional depth. Visually, the game features handcrafted environments generated with HappyTree by Sol_HSA, paired with the elegant "Bree Serif" font that enhances its atmospheric tone. Though the original prototype, "Omertà," included music composed by the developer’s brothers, Johannes-Paul and Ludwig Hanisch, this versión does not feature sound effects. Still, the focus remains on creating a meditative journey through words and imagery. Wood for the Trees stands out as a unique, slow-paced experience for fans of narrative games and atmospheric exploration. It’s a reminder that sometimes, the most powerful stories are told quietly.
