VRemedies - MRI Procedure Experience
VRemedies - MRI Procedure Experience is a VR simulation designed to help patients, especially children, prepare for real MRI scans. Developed with input from hospitals, clinicians, and therapists, it offers a realistic yet gentle introduction to the MRI environment. The experience uses photogrammetry to recreate actual procedure rooms, allowing users to explore and interact with the space. Friendly robot characters guide users through each step, making the process engaging and less intimidating. The interactive setting lets players explore the machines, hear their sounds, and understand how they work—all in a safe, non-threatening way. Currently, the simulation is being tested as an exposure therapy tool to reduce anxiety and the need for sedation during scans. VRemedies combines education, comfort, and innovation to make medical procedures more approachable. This project represents a meaningful step forward in patient care and digital therapy. It truly helps ease fears and build confidence before real-life treatments.
