Description
Virtual Hellscape is a co-op tower defense game that flips the genre on its head. Instead of placing towers statically, you carry them in your hands like weapons—they keep firing as long as you hold them. Each round offers a choice between two randomly selected towers, ensuring no two runs play the same. Your mission: defend the VHS tape at all costs. With procedurally generated tower selection, every session brings fresh strategies and chaotic teamwork. Originally designed for two-player local co-op using dual controllers, a keyboard-adapted versión is now available for Windows, allowing solo or shared-keyboard play. Controls are remapped for accessibility: Player 1 uses WASD and F/G keys, while Player 2 uses arrow keys with "." and "/". Created by Jonghwan Kim, artists Jannah Ibrahim, Naya Wardeh, and Hazel Grover, programmers Kenneth Xu, Mubai Zeng, Mikito Takata, and Guy Louis Perry—who also handled music and sound—this surreal, retro-inspired experience thrives on collaboration and improvisation.
