Though the project was abandoned before release, a team in Austin recovered the original source code from a rare 8-inch floppy disk. Now, VekWars is updated for modern VR systems and playable after more than three decades. Set in 2385, players defend a stash of Vektrox Ore from relentless Xilorian attacks in a futuristic war scenario. Armed with a laser cannon, missiles, and a shield, you must protect the crates from waves of enemy ships. The game blends retro sci-fi vibes with modern mechanics, offering a unique defense simulator experience. While best enjoyed in VR, some users may need to launch the executable directly if the headset isn't detected automatically.
