V-Ride
V-Ride is a realistic racing simulation game built for VR, developed during a three-month period of focused work. It combines two different racing systems within a Unity-based virtual reality environment. Set during the busy beach season, the game features high-speed action in a variety of vehicles, including soapbox cars. Players can enjoy sprint races, knockout challenges, off-road adventures, and city races with traffic awareness. The experience runs exclusively with VR headsets like the HTC Vive or WMR, paired with a steering wheel such as the Logitech. It supports both automatic and manual H-pattern gearboxes with clutch functionality. The simulation includes authentic vehicle behavior, such as engine stalls and gear rattling when the clutch isn’t used. With upcoming plans to add car damage mechanics, V-Ride aims to deliver an immersive and evolving racing experience. It’s available for free, so dive in and enjoy the ride.
