Unwanted Exchange is a short, creative visual novel built around a haunting yet playful premise. Players step into the shoes of a customizable protagonist, diving into a mysterious world where forgotten demons linger. Using just a few grimoires, the player summons a handsome demon who quickly becomes an unforgettable companion. The game features a single main character, a handful of sprites, and a concise narrative under 1,000 words—crafted for the O2A2 2023 Jam. With 999 words of dialogue, players experience flirtation, comfort, and endless possibilities. Multiple branching paths lead to three distinct endings, depending on your choices. The story is packed with Easter eggs, nods to other games, and plenty of humor, including a memorable moment where Leo gets to shine. Developed by epykslion (writer, programmer) and Leo Azari (artist), with music by Timidité Tragique and sound effects from Pixabay, this project is available on Itch.io via [Domestic Dread.
