Unlimited F1 '96 (gamejam)
Is a nostalgic tribute to the early days of Formula 1 gaming, inspired by a real 1996 Sega Saturn prototype. Originally a quick-release promotional title, this versión captures the essence of the 1996 Australian Grand Prix circuit, featuring only the "Quick Race" mode. Developed in just three days by a small team, it mirrors the constraints of retro game creation while delivering authentic F1 simulation. Players control a Benetton B195 in a simplified 320×224 resolution environment, navigating a single track with basic car physics and AI. Controls are intuitive, using keyboard or gamepad, with camera modes and pit stop mechanics adding depth. Built with Unity assets—including car controllers, road generators, and retro music—the game blends technical ingenuity with period-accurate charm. Though limited in scope, it celebrates the spirit of early game jams and F1 history. A must-play for retro enthusiasts and F1 fans alike. This project showcases how creativity thrives under.
