Description
Univolve is a 2D demake of Minecraft created by Splix for the Gamecodeur Jam #9, themed "Demake 2D!" Developed entirely in C# using Monogame without external libraries—aside from a lightweight custom engine—the game draws inspiration from titles like Junk Jack. Set in a blocky, pixelated world, Univolve lets players mine, craft, and explore with core mechanics reminiscent of early Minecraft. Controls include left-click to attack, right-click to interact, E for inventory, C for crafting, and standard movement keys. The visuals are built from adapted Minecraft textures and original pixel art, though the game currently lacks sound and music due to development constraints. Made as a premium student project at Gamecodeur, a French online game development school, Univolve showcases solid mechanics and nostalgic charm within tight technical boundaries. It stands as a polished tribute to retro sandbox adventures.
