In Understory, you dive into an immersive underground ecosystem where survival depends on balance and strategy. Control your growth using intuitive keyboard or VR inputs—push forward with 'W' or the left thumbstick, aim with your mouse or index trigger, and reset at checkpoints with 'R' or the 'X' button. Your mission is to connect to water nodes and plant root systems, represented by glowing white spheres, while collecting vital nutrients by breaking through environmental barriers. As you expand, maintain equilibrium: nutrients and water fuel your progress, and depleting either resets your journey. Health loss also triggers a reset, so tread carefully. The more water nodes you link, the faster you grow; the more roots you integrate, the deeper you advance. Understory challenges you to nurture the native trillium roots while fending off invasive species, creating a delicate dance between expansion and preservation. Grow wisely, or risk it all.
