Typing in the Void
Is a unique typing arcade game born from a spontaneous 60-minute development sprint. Created during a layover at San Francisco Airport while waiting to return to Las Vegas after the canceled GDC 2020, the game captures the essence of speed and creativity. Players use their entire keyboard to match on-screen words, with controls designed for simplicity: **Restart**, **Escape** to quit, and **F11** for fullscreen mode—all optimized for **Windows**. Built entirely in GameMaker and BFXR, with custom fonts and music from FL Studio, the project reflects a rapid yet polished effort. It was entered into multiple game jams, including RigidJam, Decade Jam, and a 2-Year Jam, showcasing its adaptability. The development process, documented in a timelapse, highlights the game’s origins as a personal challenge during a time of uncertainty. This concise, high-energy title blends minimalism with addictive jugabilidad, proving that creativity.
