Twisty Chess

Description

Twisty Chess is a fresh take on the classic board game, currently under active development as part of the ongoing updates since its creation for the GMTK Game Jam 2019. The game introduces innovative mechanics to the traditional chess experience. Two core features are already implemented: a switch mechanic that lets players change a piece every few turns, with cooldown adjustments based on the benefit of each change, and falling tiles that block movement, adding strategic depth. The developer welcomes player suggestions for additional mechanics and encourages feedback on toggling options for these features. Current issues include bugs with the undo function, which are being addressed. The project benefits from contributions by Nitai99 (programming), Pixel Chess Asset Pack by DevilsWork.shop (art), zippi1 (sound effects), pauliuw (music), and custom cover images sourced via Fiverr. The developer continues refining builds and welcomes community engagement. This evolving project offers a unique blend of nostalgia and creativity for fans of tactical games.
