Triforce
Triforce is a thought-provoking puzzle game crafted by Patrick LeMieux (alt254) and Stephanie Boluk (chouxsalad), drawing inspiration from the surreal, paradoxical locations in *The Legend of Zelda*. Set in a 3D reinterpretation of Hyrule, the game transforms familiar 2D maze concepts—like the Lost Woods and Lost Roads—into mind-bending, non-Euclidean spaces filled with donuts, Möbius strips, and Klein bottles. Players navigate three unique dungeons, each challenging logic and perception in new ways. Designed for educational purposes and released in 2017 as part of the open-access book *Metagaming*, Triforce blends creativity with analytical thinking. While it shares DNA with Nintendo’s iconic series, it pushes boundaries beyond typical reimaginings. The game’s visuals, sound, and narrative pay homage to Zelda’s legacy while carving its own identity. Critics praise its innovative approach to spatial puzzles and its ability to make players rethink familiar concepts.
