Tracing the Conical Cup: An Interactive Exhibition
Tracing the Conical Cup offers a unique look into ancient Minoan and Aegean Bronze Age ceramic traditions through an interactive exhibition. Visitors explore three main perspectives: ceramic analysis, shaping methods, and 3D visualizations. Originally presented as a live event by the Tracing the Potter's Wheel project, it was hosted in Heraklion Archaeological Museum and the Dutch Institute at Athens in 2019. The project brings together physical and digital displays, making the collection accessible to a broader audience. The exhibition highlights how everyday objects can reveal complex cultural and technological practices. By focusing on a simple yet significant item like a conical cup, it uncovers deeper insights into ancient craftsmanship and trade. This digital adaptation ensures that the experience reaches beyond museum walls, inviting global audiences to engage with history in an innovative way. The project stands as a bridge between archaeology and modern technology. It encourages curiosity and learning through immersive storytelling. This exhibition is a must-see for fans of history, design, and interactive media.
