Tiny X-Wing
Tiny X-Wing is a compact, experimental mini-game designed to explore innovative jugabilidad mechanics. Focused on four key concepts, it introduces data-driven systems and modding possibilities. The game renders at a fixed resolution regardless of user settings, challenging developers to maintain visual consistency. Tying jugabilidad to a stable framerate creates unique performance tests. It serves as a real-world testbed for in-game shapes and editor tools, emphasizing simplicity while drawing inspiration from classic 90s X-Wing titles. Players control a TIE Fighter, battling squadrons of X-Wings alongside allies aboard a Lancer anti-fighter frigate. jugabilidad supports both gamepad and keyboard controls, with flight commands displayed on-screen. After defeat, players can switch to a spectator mode using the WASD keys to observe the battle from above. The project also allows spawning new AI squadrons during play, offering fun experimentation—though Lancer frigates, once destroyed, cannot respawn. Available for manual download or via itch.io, Tiny X-W.
