Threadbare
Threadbare is a reflective short game that explores life, memory, and the passage of time. Players step into the shoes of an aging character, revisiting past experiences, relationships, and the endless routines that shaped their existence. The game invites thoughtful exploration of choices made and dreams left behind, all within a minimalist yet evocative setting. Designed for the GMTK Game Jam 2025, Threadbare offers a unique narrative experience best enjoyed by downloading rather than playing directly in the browser. Controls are intuitive: use the mouse to move between circles for dialogue choices, and navigate with arrow keys or E to interact. The game features a dedicated team including writers Rainhet & Ghostwake, programmers CatPieYum, and artists Rainhet & Ghostwake, along with contributions from Rainhet & Catmint for music and Eldritch Grim Eye of the Storm and I Want to Go Home for additional audio. Built with GDNative and Ropesim by Marvin Ewald, Threadbare stands out as a deeply personal and introspective journey through life’s cycles.
