Theatre of War 2: Africa 1943
Theatre of War 2: Africa 1943 immerses players in the pivotal 1943 Tunisian campaign of World War II. The game focuses on the German Afrika Korps, led by General Erwin Rommel, and their renewed efforts to dominate North Africa after setbacks like the Second Battle of El-Alamein. Players command Axis forces alongside Italian allies, aiming to secure victory and expel the Allies from the continent. The game features dynamic urban combat, with house-to-house fighting and animated close-quarters battles. Players can deploy anti-air vehicles, artillery, and use smoke screens to gain tactical advantages. Defensive units can set up trenches, sandbags, barbed wire, and roadblocks before battle begins. Advanced unit formations and improved AI allow soldiers to seek cover and share heavy weapons. A refined infantry damage system adds realism, while new visual and audio enhancements bring the era to life. The game includes 15 missions across three campaigns—German, American, and British—featuring iconic battles like Kasserine Pass and Sidi Bou Zid.
