The Cubedex of Brass and Wood
The Cubedex of Brass and Wood is a clever puzzle game centered around enigmatic electromechanical devices connected by the Cubedex itself. Similar to puzzle hunts or escape rooms, it blends clear objectives with tricky solutions, sometimes making the challenge of discovering the goal part of the puzzle. The game features multiple puzzle types, including expanded versions of Balance, Cart, and Machine puzzles, offering extra brain-teasing challenges. Players interact with unique devices like The Balance with nine pans and eight weights, The Cart—a Bakelite robot with plug-in tubes—and The Machine with seven tubes and buttons. There’s also a light puzzle called The Maze, a staple in this genre. Originally developed by Jim McCann / TCHOW llc as a midwinter gift in 2015 and later refined for Steam in 2020, this title marks the beginning of the Cube* series. The Steam release brings these intricate worlds to a wider audience with notable improvements over earlier versions. All game materials are designed to be enjoyed without needing to modify files or use external tools. The Cub.
