STAY ALIVE MY SON (PC Version): A True Story About A Father's Search For His Son
Is more than a game—it’s a moving tribute to resilience and remembrance. Originally crafted as a VR experience, this adaptation brings the powerful story of Pin Yathay’s father’s quest to Cambodia’s darkest era to PC players worldwide. Released on April 17th, coinciding with the 50th anniversary of Phnom Penh’s fall, the game invites players into an emotional journey of love, truth, and survival. Now accessible without VR headsets, it reaches broader audiences, from classrooms to homes, sparking conversations about history and healing. The project gained momentum after a heartfelt response from the community, leading to its transition from VR to PC via Steam. At the International Film Festival (CIFF), young Cambodians reconnected with their past, reclaiming silenced stories. Director Victoria Bousis emphasized the importance of shared memory: “History must be lived, not just read.” After CIFF, the game will reside permanently at the ECCC Resource Center.
