SoundTown
Is an inclusive music game designed for children and young people with complex physical and cognitive needs. Created by Alexander Horowitz as part of his PhD research at the Glasgow School of Art, the game offers six engaging minigames accessible through a simple two-button system. Perfect for players using switches, foot pedals, or adaptive controllers like the Xbox Adaptive Controller, SoundTown ensures everyone can enjoy interactive music play. Developed with input from schools and charities, it uses the Unity engine and Wwise audio for a smooth, customizable experience. The game is completely free to play, with contributions from Menphys, Birkett House School, Kinnaird Primary School, and Hazelwood School. Featuring artwork by Carol Studzinski and voiceover by Susannah Horowitz, SoundTown combines accessibility, creativity, and education. Its intuitive design makes it ideal for therapeutic or recreational use. SoundTown proves that inclusive gaming is not only possible but enjoyable for all.
