Sisyphus: The Horselike
Sisyphus: The Horselike reimagines the ancient myth with a roguelike strategy twist, blending deck-building and narrative-driven choices. Players guide Horsyphus, a hoofed protagonist, through the Greek underworld’s six levels—Tartarus, Asphodel, Elysium—using Event Cards that reflect his philosophy. Each decision shapes the climb, influenced by divine intervention and weather mechanics. The game’s core loop revolves around managing Climb Attempts: fail a challenge, and you restart the level; exhaust attempts, and you fall back to the beginning. Legendary Greek artifacts and Blasphemy mechanics offer powerful but risky upgrades. Terrain Tiles dynamically alter the underworld’s landscape, demanding adaptive strategies. With permadeath mechanics and procedural challenges, the game emphasizes resilience and creativity. Inspired by masocore’s physical difficulty, it challenges players to master timing, resource management, and risk assessment. The result is a tense, thematic experience where every climb feels both mythic and precarious.
