Shredded Secrets

Shredded Secrets is a heartfelt 2D platformer that dives into the lives of four distinct middle schoolers: Isabella, Taylor, London, and Oakley. Each character grapples with unique struggles—Isabella faces bullying from Oakley, Taylor battles academic pressure and family expectations, London copes with depression and grief while teaching, and Oakley hides deeper issues beneath his tough exterior. Players navigate their intertwined stories, confronting bullies, self-doubt, and symbolic "grade monsters." The game encourages empathy by letting players explore each character’s fears and find solace in personal items. Developed by Team Sarcastic Shark Clouds—a group of middle school girls from the 2018 Girls Make Games Seattle camp—Shredded Secrets won the Grand Prize at GMG’s Demo Day and raised over $30K on Kickstarter. Part of the Girls Make Games initiative, it aims to inspire young creators through hands-on game design and storytelling.
