Description
SENCAT is a thought-provoking game developed by SENCAT, designed to bridge the gap between young people and politics in Japan, where youth voter turnout remains low—only 36.50% among 20-year-olds in the 2021 general election. Created by a team including Ryota Sano (leader, support programmer), Moka Sakamoto (graphic designer, main programmer), and character designers Nozomi Ueno and Nao Miyata, SENCAT turns civic education into an engaging experience. Through a typing-based mini-game phase, players earn in-game income while learning political terminology. This leads into the election phase, where players vote and see how their chosen candidates and policies directly impact simulated social factors like taxes, healthcare, and welfare. By visualizing the real-world consequences of voting decisions, SENCAT fosters critical thinking and metacognition, helping players grasp the significance of their civic role. The game encourages players to view elections not as distant formalities but as personal, impactful choices. SENCAT aims to transform political ap.
