Protolife: Other Side

Protolife: Other Side is a fast-paced arcade game that blends tower defense with sci-fi strategy. Players guide alien creatures through increasingly challenging levels to reach a critical interplanet transport. Set years after the original Protolife events, the story follows humanity’s colonization of Planet of Leonov (Leo-Nóva), where alien biotechnology holds key secrets. After an orbital strike destroys the alien core, the overseer—acting as the backup core—evacuates surviving creatures out of fear for their safety. The game features five unique alien species, each with distinct abilities, and four standard skills to adapt to evolving threats. Six distinct zones offer varied layouts, destructible environments, and familiar structures from the original game repurposed as enemies. Every level must be cleared multiple times to maximize evacuations, with each run growing tougher. Special missions influence later stages, adding depth to the strategy. Controls are intuitive, using keyboard, mouse, or gamepad, with direct leader movement and squad follow. Activate squad-wide abilities to turn the tide.
