Prime
"Prime" is a strategic board game drawing inspiration from chess and checkers, set on a 64-square board. Players compete as whites or blacks, guiding their pieces—numbered from 1 to 9—through a dynamic mix of movement rules. Pawns (number 1) move forward one square, while even-numbered pieces advance straight or sideways, and odd-numbered ones travel diagonally or straight. The twist lies in "Prime" pieces (starting at 5), which gain full directional freedom once captured, adapting to the path of their prey. Promotion rules add depth: reaching the opponent’s side boosts value by 1 or 2, flipping movement patterns. Capturing a "Prime" shifts its direction to match the captured piece, creating unpredictable momentum shifts. The game begins with 8 pawns, 4 even, 2 odd, and 2 primes per player. Victory demands tactical foresight, as controlling the board or outmaneuvering opponents leads to triumph. "Prime" blends.
