It's Not You, It's M.E
Is a concise, emotionally resonant narrative experience that explores life with chronic health challenges. Set over the span of a single, exhausting week, the game immerses players in the daily struggles of managing simple tasks and making everyday decisions. Developed by a solo creator, it draws inspiration from real-life experiences of Long Covid and Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME), offering a realistic and empathetic portrayal of chronic fatigue. The jugabilidad is minimalist—point-and-click interactions with subtle, sometimes frustrating mini-games that reflect the difficulty of daily life. With a runtime of about ten minutes, it delivers a powerful, quiet story that doesn’t aim for resolution but instead fosters understanding. Featuring original music by Jack The Robot, the game was supported by Disability and Deaf Arts Fest, FACT Gallery, and funded through the National Lottery via Arts Council England. This thoughtful project highlights the importance of inclusive storytelling in gaming. It's a meaningful experience that deserves attention.
