Description
Daemonologie is a concise, surreal horror experience rooted in the historical context of the Scottish witch trials. Players step into the shoes of a witch finder tasked with uncovering the truth in a small, ominous village. Through dialogue and observation, you must separate fact from fiction among the fearful locals, piecing together clues to identify the real witch before the inevitable hanging on the fifth day. The game features intuitive controls: left-click to interact, right-click to return to the map, and Esc to quit. Developed by a creator from Edinburgh, Daemonologie draws inspiration from the real North Berwick Witch Trials, offering a chilling atmosphere enhanced by evocative sound design. While some scenes may depict disturbing elements, the focus lies in psychological tension rather than graphic visuals. The project was crafted using Game Maker and 2D art tools, reflecting a return to classic indie aesthetics. Though minor bugs may exist due to the developer's long absence from the engine, feedback is welcome. The haunting banda sonora is available on YouTube. Experience this atmospheric journey into history's dark.
