Cohabitation immerses players in a tense, thought-provoking journey on the distant planet Alkia, where two alien species—the peaceful Alkians and the predatory Holl—navigate survival and conflict. Tasked with reactivating a radio tower to locate a habitable world, players shape the story through critical choices that influence eight distinct endings. The game blends horror-puzzle mechanics, narrative depth, and dating-sim elements, offering a unique exploration of empathy and coexistence. Striking hand-painted visuals and VQGAN+Clip-generated art bring the alien worlds to life, while a haunting banda sonora by monom enhances the atmosphere. Hidden secrets and randomized events ensure each playthrough feels fresh. With content warnings for violence and disturbing imagery, Cohabitation challenges players to confront moral dilemmas and consider unconventional solutions. Developed through a collaborative effort involving the University of Chicago's Digital Storytelling class, this project highlights creativity and innovation in interactive storytelling.
