Civil War: 1865 immerses players in the final, decisive days of the American Civil War. Set after the fall of key Confederate cities, the game follows General Robert E. Lee’s desperate last stand. Players can experience both Union and Confederate perspectives through 7 tutorial missions and 5 Twilight Campaign missions. Key battles include Fort Fisher, Monroe’s Crossroads, Averasboro, Bentonville, and Fort Stedman. The campaign culminates in Lee’s surrender at Appomattox Court House on April 9, 1865, ending the war and slavery in the U.S. Players control 8 unique Civil War units, from smoothbore and rifled infantry to artillery and cavalry. Tactical flexibility is emphasized through changing formations, morale-boosting generals, and veteran or raw units. Optional missions let you play as either side in breakout scenarios. Difficulty levels and detailed combat analysis add depth. A compelling historical experience for strategy fans. This game brings the Civil War’s end to life with rich detail and replayable content.
