Description

Beings of the Hammonk is a 2D action-adventure game originally developed for the third Game Jam on the Tawrny platform. In a forgotten era, powerful leaders hunted the mystical Hammonk beings for their consciousness, a source of immense energy used to create unstoppable creatures and dominate the world. All were captured—except one. This lone survivor escaped, its consciousness hidden away in a secret temple. Now, the last Hammonk returns on a mission to find the ancient temple and destroy the remnants of its kind's consciousness before it can be exploited again. Inspired by classic 2D platformers and built using tools like the 2D Game Kit, Free 2D Handcrafted Assets, and the Lost Crypt 2D environment, the game delivers a simple yet compelling narrative. Despite its origins in a beginner-led jam with limited development time, Beings of the Hammonk offers a focused experience centered on exploration, mystery, and the fight for freedom.
