The story follows a girl who awakens in a shadowy, unfamiliar forest, ambushed by a sudden monster attack. Rescued by Kurofude—a boy wielding a brush like a weapon—he introduces himself as Shirohime, addressing her in a tone both familiar and strange. She suffers from amnesia, unable to recall her past or his name. Kurofude explains they inhabit Adabana, a realm born from illustrated books where stories exist as fleeting dreams. Their mission: traverse narrative worlds to mend broken tales, as distortions threaten to erase them forever. Shirohime, dressed in a white kimono, accepts this surreal duty, opening a tattered book titled *Hanasaka Jiisan*. Its glowing pages transport them to a fairy-tale dimension, blending mystery and danger.
