(2024) Phobheal
Phobheal is a student project from Esiee-IT School's VR and Gaming program, designed as an immersive serious game aimed at helping people cope with phobias. The experience places users in controlled, safe environments to gradually confront three specific fears: talassophobia (fear of deep water), acrophobia (fear of heights), and kenophobia (fear of unknown things). Developed by Alexis Rabiller, Alexis Pelissier, Lubin Pauly, and Tristan Laine, with support from Moise Nsingi, the game focuses on therapeutic exposure through virtual reality. Each scenario is carefully crafted to offer realistic yet manageable challenges, encouraging users to build confidence and resilience. Phobheal stands out as a compassionate and innovative tool for mental health support, blending education and entertainment in a meaningful way. It represents a promising step forward in using VR for emotional well-being. This project truly shows the power of technology to help people face their fears.
